2023 Coaches
Our coaches are the true definition of Hurricane Swim Family.
Most all swam for the Hurricanes growing up. They have been junior coaches, aged out and now they continue their Hurricane journey as our coaching staff.
Our coaches truly love the Hurricanes and can't imagine their summers without their Hurricane family.
My name is Abbey and I started as a swimmer with the Hurricanes when I was 6 and swam until I aged out. After that I became a coach in 2008 and haven’t left since.
I am also a physical therapist full time with Baylor Scott and White and coach swimming to triathletes part time for a company called T3. I think swimming is an amazing sport and will always be incorporated in my life in some manner. I am so happy we were able to have a swim season this year and excited to see everyone improve this year! Let’s go Canes!!
Hi! I’m Coach Sam and this is my second year as a coach for the Hurricanes! I’ve been swimming for the Hurricanes since I was 5 all the way until I aged out at 17. I’m a student at Texas State University studying Graphic Design and also play club Water Polo! This spring, my Water Polo team made 3rd in the state of Texas! I also really enjoy painting in my free time. I’m so excited for this Hurricanes season to be back in full swing and to continue to be apart of this wonderful team.
Hey Y'all! I've swam for the Hurricanes since I was about 6, and I was on the coaching staff last year and I'm so excited to be back! I also swam for McNeil High School for all 4 years and swam on the Sailfish club for about 5 years. I just finished my freshman year in college at Trinity University which is a small school in San Antonio. I want to major in social science, like sociology or psychology and I want to minor in urban studies. I hope to be a lifeguard this summer for my second job. I enjoy baking and reading as hobbies and love spending time outdoors and swimming.
Hi my name is Kate and I am super excited to get to coach again this year! I swam on the Hurricanes for 9 years and look forward to being a part of the team again! I’ve worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Rattan for three years and will continue through the summer, so come say hi if you see me there! I just finished up my first year of college at Texas State University, where I am studying History! When I’m not studying or working, I like to read or watch tv with my family!
Howdy! My name is Nathan Lewis and I have been with the Hurricanes swim team since I was 6 years old, swimming for 11 years and coaching for 1. I just finished my first year as an engineering student at Texas A&M University, and my hobbies include going to the gym and beating parents in the parent/coaches relay.
Hi, I'm Coach Jonathan. I have swam on the Hurricanes since I was 5 years old until I was aged out. I proceeded to swim for my high school swim team at McNeil High School. I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas. I really enjoy cooking, reading, drawing and playing video games in my free time. I am excited to be coaching this year and getting to know everyone!
