The Hurricane Swim Team has been a part of my
life for as long as I can remember. I began swimming with the team
at the age of 7, and continued until I was 17. The team
always meant a lot to me, and I always looked forward to swimming
every summer. When I hit Middle School I began swimming with a Club
Team as well, first I swam for Texas Gold, then Lonestar Aquatics
and finally found the Club Team that seemed to fit, Cedar Park
Swimming. I never wanted to stop swimming, and by joining these
teams I was able to do just that. In High School I swam for the
McNeil Swimteam, and was delighted to find that many of its members
were former Hurricanes. I am currently swimming for the
Longhorn Aquatics Club at UT.

I have been swimming
for about thirteen years. I swam for Pflugerville High School,
Texas Gold, and now I am currently swimming for the University of
Missouri. I have been coaching for four years now and love being
around kids. I have great experience in helping swimmers develop
their stroke and becoming faster with in the season. I can't wait
to see what this summer has in store for the
Hurricanes!

This is my
first season coaching and I am very excited to have a summer filled
with hard work and fun. As far as swimming experience goes, I have
earned national rankings of 14th, 16th and 20th for the 100m
butterfly and 18th, 24th and 26th for the 200m butterfly. The
highest national ranking I have recieved is 3rd which I achieved
twice on the 800m freestyle relay. I swam and lettered all for
years for Westwood High School but was plagued with injuries
ranging from a broken humerus requiring 6 different operations, to
bronchitis days before high school regionals, to a deep cut on two
fingers while warming up at regionals that almost disqualified me
from the meet due to the severity of the bleeding, all in different
years.
I swam one
season for Stony Brook University in New York and made it to the
finals of the conference championships in the 100 & 200 yard
butterfly and the 100 yard backstroke. I transferred to the
University of Tennessee and continued the Army ROTC training I had
began at Stony Brook but due to a scholarship mishap that created
too much financial strain, I returned to Austin and enrolled in
Austin Community College for the Spring 2010 semester. I am
currently attempting to transfer to the University of Texas at
Austin where I hope to continue my ROTC training and the pursuit of
my degree in molecular biology.
